Siding going up.......

Well heres our updated photo of our new house. The siding is going up and I think the color is so cute. !! WE plan to hopefully paint our door navy blue, and get some shutters. Wouldn't that be nice. We are dreaming about where everyone will go and what we will so with so much extra space.... Whatever will we do!!
Sierra keeps saying that her new house is so small.. and Aaliyah keeps telling everyone that her new house is being built-- of course no one can understand her because she still have her quite, baby voice, and some baby talk.

I regret to inform you!

Well in an effort to beable to financially afford this new house, we are cutting back on all things that are non essential. Our internet is one of the things that we will have to live without for now. We will try to keep posting on this blog, but there might be days that we miss. We love all our invisible supporters and appreciate all your love and support.

Hide and Seek???

This is the status of our house as of about a week and a half ago. I think somebody needs to tell those guys that it's not exactly ready to play hide and seek in! On Sunday when I was there the basement was framed in as well as the floor joists for the second floor. I bet by the time I get back this weekend, they will just about have the roof on! We will get some more pictures up of the property this weekend.

Working at last!!

Well today was our first day working on our house-- well the houses in this phase. Today we set and placed all the windows, wrapped the houses, and did scrapping, and cleaning. It was raining the last 4 hours, so jesse and everyone except me was outside so they were muddy and soaked. See those windows? Yeah we put those there :-)There was seven people today, and we were a pretty good team! I spent the whole day sweeping, clearing and removing all wood scrapes from three of the five houses. It was fun to caulk the windows and screw them into the house. We were trying to secure the houses because the electricians are coming in on Monday to do those houses, and wiring is something that is easily stolen. It was a nice day, and the girls are really excited. Our neighbors, are really nice so thats cool. hopefully this will work out all the way to the end.

Were next!!

Well we start working tomorrow, and we found out that we only have 5 houses in our build group, which we are hoping that means we will get finished much quicker! Yeah.... We are going to be framed for reals this time this next week.

Our House....Now

On Saturday, our little family decided to make another trip up to our new property where we will be building our house this summer. We are very excited to get into the process and meet all our new neighbors. This is going to be a great experience for us as a family both for having that great sense of fulfillment of owning our own home, but also having the experience of actually building our home ourselves! Keep an eye on the blog and us on your minds as we get into this new and exciting experience.

Our House.......someday

Not too long ago, Melinie and I had a meeting with Community Frameworks, and we signed the papers for our house. We are going to be building along with a group of our future neighbors as part of a sweat equity program. We are pretty excited at the prospect of being homeowners and especially of a brand new house. I think it will be a lot of fun to be able to have a hand in the building itself, and I hope they let me integrate a few of the toys from my industry. So, this isn't exactly a picture of our house of course, but it is the same floor plan. We can't wait to start building and documenting the whole thing here.
