Working at last!!

Well today was our first day working on our house-- well the houses in this phase. Today we set and placed all the windows, wrapped the houses, and did scrapping, and cleaning. It was raining the last 4 hours, so jesse and everyone except me was outside so they were muddy and soaked. See those windows? Yeah we put those there :-)There was seven people today, and we were a pretty good team! I spent the whole day sweeping, clearing and removing all wood scrapes from three of the five houses. It was fun to caulk the windows and screw them into the house. We were trying to secure the houses because the electricians are coming in on Monday to do those houses, and wiring is something that is easily stolen. It was a nice day, and the girls are really excited. Our neighbors, are really nice so thats cool. hopefully this will work out all the way to the end.

My first...

Everyone has to start somewhere! I found a tutorial that told me how to remove a background, and attempted to do just that with this picture, I think it turned out pretty well.. What do you think? Not everyone has the mad skills that Jesse has but hey whatever huh....

Light of a Better Day

Well the weather today has been a little tumultuous, and we have had more than enough of our winter blues. We (Melinie especially) is ready for spring and more sunshine. This is a picture I took of some equally odd weather we had when we went to Jason and Tanya's house the other day. If you look closely, you can see that there are snow flakes falling but the sky had cleared up and it was blue skies and sunny. Pretty odd, and it had been nasty all day so it was nice to see it clear up finally.

oops, pic didn't upload. I will get it loaded up a little later.

Flash Back

A while back Melinie was taking her photography courses at our local college. This is another one of the pictures that she took and developed herself that I really liked. Aaliyah's eyes just look sooo cute and with her hugging her teddy this is just an adorable picture. Melinie really took some great pictures, and I hope she picks the camera back up soon. (She has been a little busy what with having a baby and all!) Oh by the way, Happy Valentine's Day!

Mamma and Her Boy

A little alone time with Ben. Melinie is enjoying her new baby boy on his fourth day with us. He had his first checkup today, and everything looks great. Now we just need to learn how to live with our new five person family, both an adventure and a struggle.

A Familiar Place

Its 7:00 am on Friday and the current temperature is 4 degrees, I was up all night with contractions that were 3-5 minutes apart. Usually that's a classic sign that one's in labor.
So we packed the girls up and set out for the hospital. Much to my disappointment, however,
because the baby is so far back against my back the contractions aren't doing what they
are supposed to do, and I hadn't progressed much since last week. I was told that back labor can be drawn for days, or weeks..... *sigh*
No baby for today!

My Sweety

Just a quick pic of my baby girl Aaliyah tonight. This is one that Melinie took, and I just thought it was a cute little candid.

In a Blur.......

Well today its My turn (Melinie) to contribute to this new blog. This picture really explains how I feel about being nine months pregnant and having a two year old and a four year old, like my days will never slow down. I know that I don't have much hope for any slack in pace for the next few month, or lets be honest years. Children are such a blessing and yet at times that blessing comes in a disguise.

Sleeping Beauty

So, as you can see, this post is comin' around a little late. That is precisely what prompted the (mmmgghhhmmm ,clears throat) subject of this piece. She was just looking all cute sleepin on the couch while I caught up on the details of the latest Seahawks victory. Woohoo!! You go Alexander!
